Finished Hex Nuts

Message / Nuts / By DING FASTENER
Finished Hex Nuts are usually hexagonal nuts because this shape is easiest to grip. These nuts are small threaded pieces of metal that are mainly used to hold bolts. These nuts and bolts hold machine parts together for step-by-step assembly.
They are also called "hex nuts" due to their hexagonal shape of the head.

Finished Hex Nut Specifications
Finished Hex Nuts meet ASTM A563-Grade A standards and are compatible with mild steel bolts, including SAE Grade 2, ASTM A307, ASTM F1554 Grade 36, and AASHTO M183 standards. In addition, these rivets also provide finished drawings of SAE Grade 5 and 8 nuts.

The side design of these nuts makes it easy for pliers and wrenches to grip the nuts and apply the required torque. Some of the metal parts are hot-dip galvanized, which increases the thickness of the threaded portion of the fastener by 2.2 to 5 mils.

The galvanized finished nut has loose threads to match the corrosion-resistant coating function of the bolt.

The nuts are usually made of steel and specially designed with the help of a steel cutting machine. The entire manufacturing process is relatively fast. Thousands of nuts can be produced in a few minutes.

Finished Nuts
Currently, the materials of nuts include steel, stainless steel, grade 5 black oxide treatment, aluminum alloy, grade 2 zinc plating, grade 5 yellow zinc plating, brass, nylon patch, L9 cadmium yellow, metric hexagonal nuts, silicon bronze, MS51971 hexagonal nuts (coarse threads), MS51971 hexagonal nuts (coarse threads), etc.

However, the frequency of use of steel hexagonal nuts is higher than any other type.

Finished nuts are usually coated with rust-proof materials to prevent rust. Rust-proof nuts can be used indoors and outdoors.

Types of Finished Hexagonal Nuts
Grade 2 Finished Nuts
Grade 2 Finished Nuts are hexagonal threaded fasteners with a thickness of 0.875 D, where D is the standard size and nut width. The D marked on the drawing is 1.5 D. These rivets are usually made of mild steel. This is the most versatile and widely used design in the nut industry and can be used with any mild bolt that has not been heat treated. The minimum tensile strength of the bolt must not exceed 74,000 psi.

The composition includes:
Carbon: 0.47%
Phosphorus: 0.12%
Sulfur: 0.23%
Coarse Pitch: 90,000 psi
Fine Pitch: 80,000 psi
Hot-Dip Galvanized Finished Nuts
Hot-Dip Galvanized Finished Nuts are also a fastener. It has 6 double-sided internal threads with a thickness of 0.875 D, where D is the regular size of the nut, and a flat width of 1.5 D. They are also made of mild steel and are zinc plated.

They are used with mild bolts and screws with a minimum tensile strength of 74,000 psi or less to protect the fasteners from corrosive environments such as moisture and salt.

Composition includes:
Carbon: 0.47%
Phosphorus: 0.12%
Sulfur: 0.23%
Rockwell Hardness B68-C32
Coarse Thread: 68,000 psi
Fine Thread: 60,000 psi
Stainless Steel Finished Nuts, 304 and 316
Hexagonal Threaded Fasteners: Hexagonal, 0.875 D thick, where D is the regular size of the nut, 1.5 D face width, made of austenitic alloy.

These rivets are used with stainless steel bolts and screws, using a specified minimum tensile strength that is equal to or less than the specified connection nut tension.

Both stainless steel nuts are made of corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel, which provides higher corrosion resistance and excellent high temperature resistance.

Composition of stainless steel finished nuts includes:
Austenitic alloys 303, 303Se, 304, XM7
Chromium: 18%
Nickel: 8-10%
Rockwell Hardness B95-C32
